Kitchen and Bath Industry Show

Direct KItchen Distributors • Nov 12, 2018

I am headed to the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2018. Typically I post a summary of the show when I return. This year, I am going to do something a little different. I am posting this the day before I leave for KBIS. Why? Someone asked me recently why I go to KBIS each year. This is why I’m spending 5 days away from beautiful Pennsylvania weather to go to Orlando to attend KBIS.

First, KBIS is the largest show in the industry each year. All the manufacturers show their new products, finishes, options, etc. There are only a few cities with a convention center large enough to handle KBIS. Last year I spent about 2 1/2 days walking the show floor. Thanks to technology I can say I walked about 70,000 steps during that time. Good shoes are a must at KBIS. It is awesome, almost overwhelming, to see displays from so many manufacturers.
Also, it is great to see many long time friends and network with the many thousands of people in the kitchen and bath industry who attend. I get the opportunity to meet sales reps, account mangers, and presidents of companies, face to face. I can’t count how many times throughout the year I refer back to the business cards I obtained at the show. It is a great opportunity to improve my level of service to my clients, by meeting other knowledgeable people in the remodeling industry.
And third, there are many educational opportunities during KBIS. Everything changes rapidly in this business (I guess in all aspects of life) and to be the best designer possible, I need to stay on top of the current trends. I can secure CEU’s (necessary to maintain my certification as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer {AKBD}) at KBIS. There are a variety of course topics from which to choose and I always enjoy hearing what others in the industry have to say.
So as long as Mother Nature cooperates with my flights schedule, I look forward to attending KBIS 2018. Check out the Whats New Page on our site when I return to see the new products we will be offering.
