Kitchen and Bath Industry Show 2017 recap

Direct Kitchen Distributors • Nov 12, 2018
I just returned from the 2017 edition of the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, also known as KBIS. I visited many exhibits, attended many educational seminars, and caught up with a lot of longtime friends in the kitchen and bath industry. My favorite part of attending KBIS is the opportunity to see all the new products being offered by the manufacturers. Each day I walked over 23,000 steps while covering the 1,000,000+ square feet of exhibit space. While it’s impossible to cover all the new things I saw in this blog, here are a few of the highlights. Check back to the what’s new section of our website, as we will be adding displays of many of these products in our show room.
New door styles. Each year manufacturers display all the new doors, colors, finishes, and specialty items at the show. It’s an awesome array of choices.

Stick Wood. This was one of the most unique products I saw at the show this year. If you looking to add a rustic touch to any room, Stick Wood may be the answer. Stick Wood is lightweight, easy to install, and can be used in a variety of situations. For small applications such as finished cabinet backs, shelving, or accent pieces or large applications like island backs and entire walls; Stick Wood offers a variety of color and finish options to complement your decor.

Accessories, accessories, accessories. The biggest thing I noticed this year was the quantity of interior accessories now available. Do you have a corner cabinet that you can’t reach? Have things fallen into the back of base cabinets that you haven’t seen in years? What do you do with the unusable space over top of the refrigerator? We can answer all of those questions and more. Interior options are available for almost all cabinet sizes. Stop by our show room, and see the great new ways we can organize your stuff.

Stop by our show room to see the latest appliances from decor. Decor offers a full range of appliances in stainless, and the new black stainless finish. If you haven’t seen the new microwave drawer or wine dispenser you don’t know what you’re missing. And how about the technology to operate your range from your smart phone.
Technology. Speaking of technology, here’s a few innovations to create a truly awesome space in your home. How about an electronic shower head that you can turn on from your bed via your smart phone. How about a hibachi style grill where you and your guests can gather around to prepare the food for your gatherings. Even in the design phase technology is popular. We can show you full color renderings of what your new kitchen will look like and email you perspectives elevations, and floor plans. We can even show you different colors of cabinets countertops and flooring in realistic 3-D. And we can send those drawings to your computer, smart phone, or tablet.
Tile. Tile has always been a great way to add durability and style to any room. In the kitchen tile backsplash is serves to protect the wall behind the work surface, and is a great place to add decos, insets, and a splash of color. In any room tile floors offer durability, ease of maintenance, and can even be heated. And in the bathroom, tile makes a great shower. In addition to shower walls and floors, tile can be used for shelves, niches, and seats. And yes your shower floor can be heated also.
We would love the opportunity to show you everything available for your kitchen, bath, home-office, laundry room, or other renovation project. Give us a call to schedule a meeting at 610-262-7235 or visit us online at www.directkitchen.com
